Culture Colony - Y Wladfa Newydd

David Nash - Sculptor

nash_80Pixel Foundry filmed additional material and edited David Nash's film 'Wooden Boulder' for his exhibition 'Making and Placing' at the Tate St.Ives. The film has subsequently been used in exhibitions around the world and is soon to be made available for purchase to the general public. Artes Plasticas in Spain commissioned Pixel Foundry's Artists Archive to record David Nash at work in his studios in Blaenau Ffestiniog as he made 'Three Sun Vessels for Huesca'. Pixel Foundry then filmed the sculptures' installation in the Pyrenees and the accompanying exhibition in Huesca. The material was used on Spanish television to publicise the sculpture and exhibition and published to DVD for Artes Plasticas. Pixel Foundry's Artists Archive has also filmed the installation in Cincinnatti of a large sculpture by David Nash.


Shani Rhys James - Artist

shani1_80'20 Minutes in the Artist's Studio' was a film made by Pixel Foundry for use in the galleries exhibiting the work of Shani Rhys James. The film comprised of an interview with the artist and documentation of her at work in her studio explaining her paintings and method of working. This material has since been used several times on various television channels and programmes. '20 Minutes in the Artist's Studio' is available as a DVD or download from our shop. Pixel Foundry also filmed Shani Rhys James winning the prestigious Jerwood Prize for Painting.


Ifor Davies - Artist

ifor2_80Pixel Foundry supplied a DVD presentation of Ifor Davies' 1968 exploding performance pieces for Tate Britain in London for the exhibition 'Art Of The 60's This Was Tomorrow'. Pixel Foundry also recorded the opening night at Tate Britain where artists such as David Hockney, Mary Quant, Peter Blake and Anthony Caro were in attendance. This material has since been used on television.


Ed Povey - Artist

ed1_80Pixel Foundry filmed the making of a large bronze sculpture and exhibition in New Orleans by Ed Povey.
